That’s the idea behind the Pint of Science Festival, during which local pubs host a series of talks covering a wide range of topics from the environment to space exploration. The festival comes to South Africa for the first time this year, with 13 local experts giving talks on six topics, three of which will be hosted at the Empire Cafe in Muizenberg and the other three at Sgt Pepper on Long Street.
