It’s the buzzword on everybody’s lips – it even made it into Zoolander 2 – but what exactly does farm-to-table mean? And what’s happening at Boschendal this weekend?
Located in the heart of the Franschhoek winelands, Boschendal Wine Estate is opening its gates to host a food festival like no other that will include an array of food stalls, workshops and activities, with something suitable for the whole family.
Farm to Table
Serving and selling only the freshest ethically sourced produce, the festival aims to educate visitors about the food chain and how to make sustainable choices. Activities include compost-creating and sausage-making workshops (R250 each), talks on urban food growing (R50), artisanal gin tasting, food garden tours (R25), and much more. And, of course, you will also be able to enjoy some of the fantastic estate wine.
Farm Feast Dinner Guests are invited to sit at a long harvest table and enjoy a delicious spit roast and fresh farm produce prepared by the Boschendal chefs.
