Franschhoek Bastille Festival 2017

Franschhoek Bastille Festival 2017

Dust off your berets and don your finest, red, white and bleu…

It’s the Franschhoek Bastille Festival, one of the most fun-filled food-and-wine extravaganzas of the year! The place to be is the Food and Wine marquee – in the grounds of the famous Huguenot Monument – where you will find delicious wine on offer. Or you can enjoy superb gourmet food from a number of Franschhoek’s best eateries. Ample parking is available and the marquee – which is within easy walking distance of Franschhoek’s main drag – will keep out the winter chill.

This year, the Porcupine Ridge Barrel-Rolling Competition  and dedicated children’s corner are back. The village will be hive of activities with musicians and carnival performers will also add to the festival atmosphere, performing in and around the Farmers’ Market, as well as friendly games of Boules. R280 buys your ticket, a complimentary tasting glass and a booklet of five tasting coupons to be used on the day. Additional coupons can be purchased at the event.

Make sure you get your tickets in advance, as they may not be sold on the day once the marquee is full.

This year festival goers can splurge for a truly french experience with the Joie de Vivre (joy of living) packages from 13 – 16 July. Available at R30 000 per couple (excluding VAT) includes luxury accommodation, access to exclusive functions, all meals as per the programme and the partners’ programme, as well as day activities. It also includes entry into the Contre La Montre mountain bike race against the clock which will be held over the three days. For more information please contact Robert Cook at
