Now in its 13th year, the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival 2017 is back at the Baxter Theatre. As always, a stellar line-up of local and international acts has been brought together to provide top-class entertainment and laughter – the perfect winter comedic tonic.

Capetonian, Alan Committie, is the host of this year’s festival, and some of the local performers on the nightly two-hour-long programme include Marc Lottering, Dalin Oliver, Mel Jones, Loyiso Madinga, Ndumiso Lindi and Daniel Richards.

International highlights include:

  • Norway’s Captain Frodo – who has been travelling the globe since he was 4 – what he gets his body to do is mind-boggling, 10 July – 6 August
  • Paul Dabek (UK), one of the top UK magician with a twist, 10 July – 2 August
  • Mario (USA), Queen of the Circus, one of the world’s top juggling artists who believes he is Queen’s Freddie Mercury, 10 July – 6 August
