Riebeek Valley Olive Festival 2017

Riebeek Valley Olive Festival 2017

Dreamistria

An olive extravaganza that'll have you shaking AND stirring your martinis.

Voted the Best Tourism Event by the West Coast Tourism Awards, the 17th annual Olive Festival promises to be bigger and better, with a martini bar, country fair and fresh-produce market on the cards. Olive enthusiasts will be in their element with the range of homemade olive goodies on offer – from jams, pickles, preserves and tapenades to flavoured extra-virgin olive oils and freshly baked olive breads.

The picturesque Riebeek Valley is home to some of the country’s top olive producers, as well as two Italian-trained olive-oil graders, so you’ll be in the company of experts. Other weekend activities include olive-oil soap making, guided walks in the olive groves, craft-beer tasting, live music, and more. Plus, there’s stuff to keep the little ones entertained, so bring ’em along, too.

Your R80 weekend passport allows you entrance to all of the participating farms (Kloovenburg, The Olive Boutique, Riebeek Cellars, The Riebeek Kasteel Town Square, Het Vlok Kasteel, Pulpit Rock and Allesverloren) and the town-based marquees, as well as a complimentary glass of wine…

Insider tip The popular and ever-cool Alchemist Wine Bar is turning into a pop-up martini bar, where you’ll be able to pair gins (such as the Swartland’s own Caperitief) with olives. Tom Collins, anyone?

Looking for accommodation? There are a range of overnight options to suit every taste and pocket, from self-catering cottages and B&Bs to luxurious hotel accommodation.
