The Helderberg is home to some of South Africa’s finest restaurants and cellars, stretching from Somerset West and Strand to Gordon’s Bay. Afrikaans for “clear mountain”, the unique wines this region produces is celebrated at the 9th annual Taste the Helderberg – a one-stop destination for foodies and vino enthusiasts alike.
The Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West will play host to this evening of homegrown deliciousness, together with participating wineries that include Avontuur, Hidden Valley, Ken Forrester, Longridge, Lyngrove, Peter Falke, Vergenoegd and Waterkloof. More than 100 wines will be available for tasting, while eminent chefs and artisanal producers prepare delicacies for you to munch on. A number of restaurants will also have a variety of dishes on sale.
