Owner Jarryd Segal returned to his native Cape Town after years living in Oz to open this breakfast and lunch spot that serves exciting salads, interesting-combo sandwiches, free-range burgers and all-day breakfast.

Why you should go For the three breakfast menus – From the Bakery, From the Farm, and Favourites – which are served all day. If the house-made potato hash browns with smoked trout, dill cream cheese, shaved fennel and a poached egg (R65) isn’t your thing, go for the organic fluffy milk pancakes with strawberry and mint compote, fresh vanilla mascarpone and maple syrup (R65). For lunch, try the free-range grilled chicken prego served on a brioche bun with rocket, sliced red onion and hand-cut triple-cooked chips (R70).
