The shade of an ancient wild fig tree gave this characterful guestfarm its name – “tanagra” means “well-shaded place” in Khoisan. The giant tree canopies the historic homestead and winery, providing welcoming shade during the hot days of summer.
Tanagra’s four cottages have fully equipped kitchenettes, and are available for self-catering or B&B stays. The cottages are sparsely dotted around the farm, so even if the farm is full, you’ll feel like you’re the only ones there. Tanagra is the ultimate relaxing getaway – grab your book and a tasty cocktail and head to the pool. For the more energetic types, there are some wonderful hiking trails and leisurely walks, during which you’ll be able to spot the abundant birdlife in the area.
