Now in its 13th year, the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival 2017 is back at the Baxter Theatre, with a stellar line-up of local and international acts guaranteed to banish any pesky winter blues.

Capetonian Alan Committie is the host of this year’s festival, and some of the local performers on the nightly two-hour-long programme include Marc Lottering, Dalin Oliver, Mel Jones, Loyiso Madinga, Ndumiso Lindi and Daniel Richards.

International comics include:
• Norway’s Captain Frodo, who has been travelling the globe since he was four. What he gets his body to do is mind-boggling, 10 July – 6 August
• Paul Dabek, one of the top UK magician’s has a twist in his tale, 10 July – 2 August
• Mario (USA), Queen of the Circus, one of the world’s top juggling artists who believes he is Freddie Mercury, 10 July – 6 August
