The Helderberg is home to some of South Africa’s finest restaurants and cellars, stretching from Somerset West and Strand to Gordon’s Bay. The unique wines produced in this region (Afrikaans for “clear mountain”) are celebrated at this annual festival, which is a veritable one-stop destination for foodies and vino enthusiasts alike.
The Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West is the venue for this evening of homegrown deliciousness, which sees wineries such as Avontuur, Hidden Valley, Ken Forrester, Longridge, Lyngrove, Peter Falke, Vergenoegd and Waterkloof taking part. More than 100 wines will be available for tasting, while eminent chefs and artisanal producers prepare delicacies for you to munch on. A number of restaurants will also have a variety of dishes for sale.
