Return of the Littlegig Festival 2017

Return of the Littlegig Festival 2017

Cool music, superb food and wine, and fab shopping on Wiesenhof Farm in Stellenbosch.

If, like us, you love an outdoor festival where you can enjoy music and nature, then you might want to reserve some tickets for Littlegig 2017.

This all-inclusive 24-hour festival returns to Wiesenhof Farm from 28 to 29 January 2017, and once again sees the coming-together of local and international musicians, DJs and esteemed celebrity chefs, ensuring top-class entertainment and sustenance for festival-goers.

Ice-cold beats

On the decks, expect to be dazzled by internationally acclaimed music producer and DJ, Culoe De Song; German electronic DJ and violinist Seth Schwartz (who headlines the Night Stage); Los Angeles DJ-producer, Captain Planet; and award-winning singer-songwriter, Nakhane Touré.

Chef’s Table with Rasmus Munk

This year, Rasmus Munk, owner of the Copenhagen-based Alchemist restaurant and leading molecular chef, is hosting a Chef’s Table. If you are keen to sample the new wave of Nordic cuisine, this is your chance. (Tickets for this cost an additional R1 000 per person).

Rasmus will also take part in the Chef-and-Farmer Tasting, which features some of our favourite local chefs, such as Chris Erasmus (Foliage), Jason Lilley (Jason Bakery), PJ Vadas (The Hoghouse) and farmers Angus McIntosh and Wayne Rademeyer (Buffalo Ridge).

Festival favourites return

Back by popular demand are the wine tastings, the late-night gin and single malt speakeasy, as well as the Sunday morning yoga session. This time, though, the wine tasting is celebrating the Simonsberg region’s best estates, including Tokara, Glen Carlou, Babylonstoren and Warwick. The Concept Store is also back, selling one-off festival fashion pieces made by selected artisans and designers.

New to the 2017 Festival

The 2017 edition also sees some exciting, new features to give festival-goers a wide range of unique experiences to enjoy. The DJ Art Car, for example, will play the sundowner set on an island on the lake. And after midnight, it will move to a secret forest location. The island will also host a Rum Shack, that’ll play rare, African vinyl music, and a Tropical Bass Tent, which will serve vegan juices and snacks.

Swing by the Night Lawn, complete with mint tea and hookah pipes, after a session at the Krone Salon – a fun champagne bar with hair and make-up stylists.

Art and about

On the design front, Littlegig has joined forces with furniture designer Xandre Kriel, who is creating the “trading posts” used around the festival grounds, while Whatiftheworld Gallery will ensure there’s outdoor art aplenty.

Please note: Your ticket includes all food, drinks and accommodation but the Chef’s Table comes at an additional cost of R1000 per person. Also, no under 18s are allowed at the Littlegig Festival.
