Situated on the picturesque eastern slopes of Table Mountain in a magnificent seven-acre garden, this stylish hotel in the southern suburbs has introduced an exciting, new health and wellness yoga studio, further expanding on its host of luxurious offerings.
The new studio, located next to the Angsana Spa in Vineyard’s Wellness Centre, is open to guests and members of the public. And, to give us an idea what it’s all about, the Vineyard is hosting two free classes on 7 and 11 August 2017. Please note: there is only space for 10 people, so please book ahead to secure your free spot. Normal classes cost R140 per person per session.
It’s getting Hatha in here
Led by Jess McLeod, a certified yoga instructor, the classes will have a Hatha and Vinyasa direction. Hatha is a relatively gentle, slow routine, focussed on breathing and stilling the mind, and is ideal for beginners or students who are looking for a more relaxed style, where they can hold their pose(s) for longer.
Vinyasa, meanwhile, is better suited to those who already have a good understanding of the correct alignment needed for yoga postures. Less time is spent on each posture, so it’s a more vigorous style, based on sun salutations.
Where do we sign up?
Yoga classes take place at the Vineyard on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7am, 8am and 6pm – but private sessions can also be arranged in addition to this, with weekends a possibility, too.
