This wildly successful Bree Street restaurant opened a branch in the southern ’burbs.

How do you know if someone’s eaten at the Chefs Warehouse & Canteen? Quite simple: they’ll tell you! Yep, this feted Bree Street Restaurant is one of those places you’ll want to brag about long after you’ve eaten there. The food is mouth-poppingly delicious, it’s no wonder some of our country’s top chefs rate it as the best restaurant in the Mother City: Michelin-starred Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, Luke Dale-Roberts, Eric Bulpitt, Brad Ball, Rudi Liebenberg, Franck Dangereux and Reuben Riffel, to name a few.

Chef Ivor

So, we could barely contain our excitement when we heard that owner-chef Liam Tomlin had opened another branch – in the ’burbs this time…  at the picturesque Beau Constantia wine estate, no less. And to top it all off, Liam has nabbed Ivor Jones (former head chef at The Test Kitchen, pictured above) to run the kitchen!

The new spot is a contemporary laidback eatery, and opened in December 2016.

We enjoyed an early dinner allowing spectacular views over the Constantia Valley at this superb new venue yesterday.
The 8-course modern tapas shared-by-two offering was as good as anything available in Cape Town if not superior in taste combinations, intensity, balance and presentation. The Beau Constantia wines complimented the dishes perfectly (interesting 100% Chardonnay MCC).

Service was refreshing and smooth. Manager Jaime was very accommodating and knowledgeable.

We will make many happy returns for sure.
    Highly recommended to discerning foodies.

This is such exciting news. I am a huge fan of Chefs Warehouse , and Beau Constantia which I visited recently, is located in a prime spot with the best view of Constantia and the Cape Flats – what a wow combination. Cant wait to explore it when it opens. Well done Liam Tomlin 🙂
