This riverside restaurant adds a touch of vintage elegance to Hout Bay and comes courtesy of Julie Ragavelas, who also had a hand in two other Hout Bay stalwarts, Spiro’s and Ragafellows. It serves contemporary café food – classics with a twist. For example, the Retro Roll on the breakfast menu, comes with scrambled eggs and artisanal bacon in a soft roll with caramelised onions and HP sauce (R45), while the Pulled Lamb on the lunch menu is a mound of slow-roasted pulled lamb served with pita crisps, pomegranates, roasted almonds, minted double yoghurt and grilled zucchini (R95).
