Frequented by the likes of Masterchef SA judge Peter Goffe-Wood, and Cape Point Vineyards’ resident chef, Jonathan Gargan, this weekly community market is where South Peninsula locals flock every Thursday evening. It takes place in the restaurant area and Bedouin marquee of Cape Point Vineyards, whose award-winning wines are available at fab prices. There is ample parking and long stretches of open grass with a jungle gym for kids.
Naturally, food is the main event. Our favourites are The FoodBarn’s pop-up stall, Kitchen Cowboys for the steak (or pork belly) ciabatta, the Flammkuchen stall for German-French-style pizza, and Angel Chefs, whose vegan coconut cheesecake is as delectable as it is healthful (all their treats are sugar-, butter-, egg- and milk-free).
It’s not just the delicious food that makes this market so popular. The arts and crafts stalls are also a pleasure to go through with vendors such as Mel’s Flowers for the freshest and brightest flowers, Amethyst with their imported silver and gemstone jewellery and Fire & Spice’s hand crafted soy scented candles.
A new kiddies’ play area indoors has been opened up, so you can bring your whole family. Regrettably, no outside food and no pets allowed.
