7 adventurous things to do in Stellenbosch

7 adventurous things to do in Stellenbosch

There’s more to Stellenbosch than fancy restaurants and sidewalk cafés…

Our favourite winelands town is famous for its excellent restaurants, contemporary-art galleries, upmarket boutiques, wonderful markets and, of course, world-class wine farms. But, did you know this charming university town is also a nature-lover’s paradise? Its picturesque topography – mountains, valleys, vineyards, forests and streams – means that you can run, hike, mountain-bike, and hang-glide in the most magnificent surrounds – and you’ll still have time to squeeze in some vino-drinking afterwards. Here are some suggestions to get your pulses racing:

1. Segway around a farm

Um, not so much… But, we can still recommend the hike there, which passes through the beautiful Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, which is particularly lush and pretty in winter.
