Villains Ale House

Villains Ale House

Scoundrels, skelms, rogues and villains are all welcome.

Located on 38 Hout Street, in a Georgian-style building that was home to O’Driscolls Irish Bar, Villians is the brainchild of three craft beer-loving, business-minded Capetonians who have revamped the 19th-century beauty and are about to introduce her as the inner-city’s go-to spot for after-work drinks.

The villainous masterminds are Jason Lilley (Bardough by Jason), Gavin Hagger (Jerry’s Burger Bar) and Reg Macdonald (The Village Idiot and Aces ’n Spades). Downstairs you’ll find long high tables and street-facing counters that create an indoor-outdoor vibe, while the upstairs lounge with wraparound banquettes will boast VIP-style laservice. A raised booth will see the resident DJ hitting the decks from 10pm onwards.
