Mount Grey Cabin: A Luxury Off-Grid Escape For Two Near Greyton

Unspoilt landscapes and creature comforts.

Mount Grey Cabin
Mount Grey Cabin

The little-known Klein Swartberg Conservancy (14 857 hectares) lies between those towering Overberg peaks you drive past on the N2, somewhere between Caledon and Greyton. In the midst of it is Mount Grey Cabin, standing solitary in the fynbos landscape, keeping watch over this stunning and tranquil place where the light and shadows play all day.

Built from pine and balau wood, it’s completely off-grid and solar-powered – there’s no wifi, no TV, no tech gadgets of any kind. So, the perfect romantic time-out for couples who want to reconnect and restore their souls in nature.

Splendid isolation

Mount Grey Cabin Deck

It’s the views that grab you (and don’t let go). Then the luxury of it all. The eco cabin is an appealing little world of its own, with all the comforts – a big bed with lovely linen, hot water for bathing or showering, a swanky kitchenette with a Bialetti coffee maker, Smeg hob, wine glasses and a nest of fresh eggs awaiting on the counter…

Mount Grey Cabin Stone Built Braai

Stacking glass doors across the entire front of the cabin open onto a deck with loungers for soaking up the sunshine and scenery (you’ll feel like you’re living in a landscape painting), a hot tub for G&T sundowners, and a separate stone-built braai area for starlit fireside feasts.
