A spectacular find beside the Atlantic Ocean.
Head southwest along Long Beach in Kommetjie and you’ll find a seafront house that beguiles and dazzles. Its name is the Maori word for “treasure”, and this property lives up to it. From arguably the best location in town (at De Kom) to its design and detailing (lots of gleaming timber and floor-to-ceiling glass), it brings that effortless beach holiday dream within reach.
Gather together in the open-plan living room and kitchen, relax in the wonderful outdoor spaces (deck, jacuzzi, pool, braai), celebrate each day’s simple rituals and find private time in plenty of hidden nooks. And should you decide to explore further, the white sand is a few steps away – and the laid-back village just a short stroll down the road.
Dream time
The villa has one of the most beautiful master bedrooms you’re likely to sleep in – spread over the entire top floor of the house, it’s a light-filled space with sea views from every angle. There’s a walk-in shower and blue claw-foot bath, a walk-in wardrobe, a lounge area with a big-screen TV, a sunset-facing private balcony… Your own little kingdom.
A second bedroom, also with sea views, leads out onto the deck and has a bathroom with a porthole window and a door into the garden. Two more bedrooms and a separate cottage mean this is a home perfectly suited to a family holiday.
You’ll find gorgeous details everywhere, from the dolphin taps and shiny copper pots to ocean-themed paintings and artful driftwood to dugout canoes for shelving and plump siesta-worthy sofas
