Tucked into the foot of the majestic Olifantsberg Mountain near Worcester, just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Eikehof Farm is a tranquil escape where modern luxury and historical charm converge.
In addition to a beautifully refurbished Manor House, dating back 200 years, the destination is home to three quaint cottages where modern creature comforts and uninterrupted serenity make for a memorable escape.
The carefully considered Oude School Huisje has two bedrooms with king-size beds, two fireplaces, a shared full bathroom with a bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area in each bedroom, private patio and garden.
A 10-minute stroll takes you to a farm dam filled with crystal-clear mountain water for early-morning dips, with a chicken coup right outside your door where you can collect eggs for breakfast. Looking to stretch your legs? There’s a network of hiking trails through the magical kloof, which boasts the most exquisite species of fynbos endemic to the area!
The surrounding forest is home to a small stream, an idyllic spot for a tranquil picnic. Grab a basket from the house and fill it with your choice of gourmet ingredients. And when lockdown restrictions are eased, there’s a clutch of boutique wineries and restaurants in the surrounding area.

The winner’s name will be drawn on 10 August 2021, and the prize is redeemable from 11 August 2021 until 12 November 2021 (subject to availability). The total prize is valued at R5 000, and includes a two-night midweek stay for four in the Oude School Huisje.

The Inside Guide shall not be liable to entrants of this competition for any prizes, loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising from the running, or otherwise, of this competition. Eikehof Farm requires the winner to pay a breakage deposit of R5 000 before their stay, which will be returned to you within two days of check out. The kind-sized beds looks designed to resemble a 17th-century French chateau.
