Chef Eric Bulpitt (formerly at renowned establishments including The Werf at Boschendal, Pierneef Á La Motte, Faber Restaurant at Avondale, and The Restaurant at Newton Johnson) has presided over the kitchens for the past year, adding his ingredient-focussed perspective to a satisfying offering of elevated farmhouse fare. With a deep-seated appreciation for cooking with fresh farm produce, Eric enjoys crafting memorable dining experiences with a unique blend of locally sourced ingredients and global culinary trends rooted in heritage cuisine. Expect the likes of perfectly grilled free-range grass-fed sirloin steaks, slow-cooked pork belly, West Coast mussels and sustainably caught linefish. Eric’s signature bread-and-butter pudding served with homemade vanilla-bean ice cream finishes things off perfectly.

The wines are also worth writing home about. Crafted by winemaker Louis Strydom, who has steered the winery from the maiden vintage in 2000 to today, the estate’s premium wines range from a crisp and fruity chenin blanc to a full-bodied cabernet sauvignon and an iconic Bordeaux-style blend. You’ll learn more about his winemaking philosophy on a guided tour through the brick-vaulted cellar (lined with French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels, terracotta amphorae and Nico Velo concrete tanks) and taste the results in the wine-tasting that follows.
