One lucky reader stands the chance of winning an evening of tapas for four, with a wine tasting and dessert, at this cool cocktail lounge in Cape Town’s East City.

Picture the scene: New York, 1960. The Rat Pack are gathered around a leather booth in a plushly kitted-out cocktail lounge, puffing cigars with snifters of cognac all round. Fast forward 50 odd years to Harringtons, a sophisticated bar and cocktail lounge in Cape Town’s moody East City, which evokes Sinatra and Davis Jr-era Manhattan.
Velvet booths, botanical prints, crystal chandeliers and revived hardwood floors set the tone, with a striking L-shaped bar wrapping around half the venue, and boasting an exposed brick wall that houses rows of spirits.
The cocktails, as one would expect, are excellent, and some of the best in the city – especially when accompanied by tapas to share. And now, you and three lucky friends stand the chance of experiencing the true magic of Harry’s (as it’s affectionately known), by simply entering our exciting competition.
Your Wednesday evening will kick off with a glass of wine on arrival, followed by a complimentary wine-tasting and a delicious meal (think vegetable, fried-fish or steak tacos, mouthwatering flatbreads, arancini, mussels, prawns, pork belly, and more). Your meal will be rounded off with a platter of petit fours, while you soak up the buzz of this Cape Town favourite.
Because after all, hump days at Harringtons is what Wednesdays in winter were made for.

The winner’s name will be drawn on 20 August 2019, and the prize is redeemable from 1 September 2019 until 31 October 2019, Wednesdays only, (subject to availability). The total prize is valued at R2 000, and includes a tapas evening for four, complete with a glass of wine on arrival, complimentary wine tasting, main meal, and a platter of petit fours for dessert.
This competition and its prizes are being offered by Harringtons Cocktail Lounge, which is solely responsible for ensuring that the winner receives his/her prize. The Inside Guide shall not be liable to entrants of this competition for any prizes, loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising from the running, or otherwise, of this competition. The winners will be notified by email and should reply within 24 hours. Once we have received your email, we will put you in touch with the organisers to arrange your prize.
