Towering poplar trees, a natural dam and fynbos-covered mountains set the scene at this idyllic retreat in Sandies Glen Valley – a short drive from the town of Stanford in the heart of The Overberg.
It’s here where three wooden cabins offer uninterrupted tranquillity and cosy seclusion, with a sprinkling of modern style.
The cottages are spread far from one another – one is hidden in the forest, and another is perched at the edge of the forest – offering unparalleled solitude in a hidden slice of the Overberg.
And now, you (and your plus-ones) stand the chance of experiencing the magic of this valley idyll for yourself, by spending two nights in one of two beautiful wooden cabins. The choice is yours!
The Forest Cabin sleeps two and is tucked among the poplar trees, with a wood-burning convection fireplace for chilly evenings. The light and airy Vlei Cabin sits on the edge of the forest, and accommodates four.
Each unit has its own outdoor fire pit and braai for shared meals under the stars, as well as a big wooden sundeck, with hammocks strung between the trees for lovely late-afternoon relaxing.
The natural dam is the place to be when the sun is out, while your private room (with its private deck) epitomises comfort. The scenic surrounds are a nature lover’s dream, and are best explored with a stroll (or run) through the trees. Those looking for some action might enjoy nearby Stanford, or the popular coastal town of Hermanus.
