A wine-drenched affair.
The current gold standard when it comes to wine-farm destinations, Boschendal ticks all the boxes. With aplomb! A variety of dining offerings, top-drawer wines, and a slew of other attractions keep visitors – young and old – coming back for more.
And, while the farm has evolved into one of the leading hospitality destinations in the Western Cape Winelands, its three centuries of history as a humble working farm is palpably woven into every aspect of this storied estate.
The recently introduced Winemaker’s Dinner Series is one such pursuit. These epicurean affairs hosted by executive chef Allistaire Lawrence and one of Boschendal’s three winemakers take place in the estate’s flagship restaurant and feature three delectable courses accompanied by a variety of equally luscious wines.
Wine + dine
Each event is centred around a wine variety (be it red, white or cap classique), with a three-course meal created around it. Chef Allistaire and a knowledgeable winemaker will be on hand to guide guests on a journey of perfectly paired flavours.
The series kicks off with red wine on 3 June 2021, hosted by cellarmaster and red-winemaker Jacques Viljoen. The contemporary farm menu is driven by the seasons and makes use of ingredients, produce and meat from the surrounding gardens and fields. Expect the likes of Duroc pork terrine; slow-cooked Black Angus beef shin; and dark chocolate fondant – each paired with a carefully curated selection of estate red.

Only on offer until September, with just four evenings in the series, no two evenings will be the same. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an intimate Q&A session before each dinner, and are advised to book ahead to secure a seat.
