Boschendal Harvest Festival: A Delicious Celebration of the Season
It’s all about the season’s bounty and beauty.
By Inside Guide • March 17, 2023
Known for its a wide range of immersive activities and wining-and-dining experiences amid spectacular surroundings, Boschendal gives visitors an authentic taste of farm life. The farm’s strong focus on ethical and sustainable farming – and its overarching respect for nature – shines through in everything it does. All of which make it a Winelands destination that shouldn’t be missed.
Arguably the best time of year to visit is at harvest time, when the vineyards, fruit orchards and gardens are abuzz with activity (and ripe for the picking).
Harvest markets

Boschendal’s much-loved Friday night market with live music will be in harvest-festival mode on 31 March 2023. Expect seasonal eats, wine and bubbles, activities for the kids, and rides on an enchanting carousel in and around the beautiful werf area. An extra Saturday morning farmers’ market on 1 April 2023 continues the harvest theme, with breakfast eats and fresh produce to load into your baskets, plus the same range of child-friendly harvest fun.
When Friday, 31 March 2023, 5pm – 9pm

Long-table harvest feast

A Sunday lunch fire-roasted feast celebrates the harvest season in style. The communal (extra-)long table stretches all the way down the central werf avenue, shaded by oak trees and surrounded by the historical manor and farm buildings. The menu showcases the Boschendal harvest and the best produce from the farm (think Angus ribs, beef sirloin, Duroc porchetta, fire-roasted vegetables, salads, sourdough and plum focaccia).
