The largest festival of beer in the southern hemisphere is back, promising more ales, pilsners and lagers than ever.
Now in its 10th year, the Cape Town Festival of Beer (CTFOB) celebrates brewing heritage and craft, featuring over 200 beers and fermented beverages from a host of breweries, with limited-edition brews that have been specially brewed just for the festival! Whether you’re a beer newbie, connoisseur or just keen on sharing a few cold ones with your mates, this festival is for you.
The largest selection of beer in the Southern Hemisphere
Aside from the bountiful supply of brew, here are other highlights to look forward to at the festival:
- over 15 local and artisanal pop-up restaurants and food trucks
- comedians, DJs and live music performances from a host of bands, including South Africa’s premier party band, Me & Mr Green
- delicious brews from CBC, Old Potters Inn, Jack Black and Darling Breweries
- refreshing Swedish-made Rekorderlig Cider (strawberry or lime flavour) and Loxtonia ciders (winners of the 2018 cider category) for those who prefer something besides beer
- children’s play area
According to festival founder Martin Tucker: “This year will be our biggest and best Festival of Beer yet. We have been around for a decade, something not all festivals manage to achieve, and this year we will be celebrating it in true beer style.”
