Wine and dine your way out of winter in the Constantia Winelands.
As a part of the Constantia Wine Route, The Cellars-Hohenort is celebrating the wine farms in the valley with a series of wine-paired dinners featuring a different estate each month.
On 1 October, Eagles’ Nest Wine Estate takes centre stage with a wine-fuelled culinary extravaganza in The Conservatory Restaurant, overlooking the historical camphor-lined garden.
Eat, prey, sip
Hosted by Eagles’ Nest Wine Estate, the evening sees chef Tronette Dippenaar create a six-course meal that showcases each of the estate’s esteemed wines and their varietals.
After an arrival drink and canapés, guests will be seated for an eclectic menu featuring the freshest produce that not only showcases the wines but also blends seamlessly with the natural setting.
First course Salmon tartare with avocado salsa and soya gel with The Little Eagle Rosé
Second course South Atlantic tuna tataki with Eagles’ Nest Sauvignon Blanc
Third course Kataifi-wrapped tiger prawns and charred corn salsa with Eagles’ Nest Viognier
Fourth course Apple and fennel sorbet
Fifth course Grilled Outeniqua springbok loin and king oyster mushroom with Eagles’ Nest Shiraz
Sixth course Kleinrivier Gruberg with mebos custard, pickled onion, hazelnut-pressed rusk and sundried tomato with Eagles’ Nest Merlot
This evening is a wine lover’s fantasy, and is the perfect way to celebrate the wines of this gorgeous valley, a mere 25 minutes from Cape Town’s city bowl.
