The Cellars-Hohenort Wine-Paired Dinners with Two Boutique Constantia Wine Farms
Wine, dinner and dégustation…warming up winter in the Constantia Valley.
By Inside Guide • 07 July 2025
Adding warmth, style and deliciousness to winter, The Cellars-Hohenort is celebrating two top wine farms in the Constantia Valley with lavish wine-paired dinners in July and August. Settle into the elegant Greenhouse venue for an evening of excellent food and fabulous wine, as winemakers from Eagles’ Nest and Constantia Glen present the best of the best from their cellars alongside menus designed to showcase them in style.
Eagles’ Nest Dinner in July

Cradled in a secluded valley high on the slopes of the Constantia mountains, the Eagles’ Nest vineyards were replanted after a devastating fire raged through the area in 2000. The unique terroir of high-elevation steep slopes (what the estate dubs their vertical vineyard) called for mostly red wine varietals – only two of its 12 hectares under vine are devoted to white.

Head chef Daniel Blignaut sat down with Eagles’ Nest winemaker Craig Barnard to carefully plan an elegant dégustation menu for the wine-paired dinner, a six-course feast accompanied by a selection of top wines.

August: Constantia Glen Dinner

Just below the saddle of Constantia Nek the tapestry of vineyards gets cool sea breezes and late exposure to afternoon sun resulting in elegant cool-climate wines. Replanted after the 2000 fire that affected the whole area, the boutique wine farm now has 28.5 hectares under vine, 30% white varietals and 70% red, and focuses on sustainable dryland cultivation and ecologically sound practices.
Winemaker Justin van Wyk has been with the farm since its second harvest, and will be selecting wines and working with chef Daniel Blignaut on the menu for this special dinner.
