Comic Con Cape Town Goes Virtual: A Pop Culture Fest at Home

Get your costumes and wifi on! Comic Con Cape Town moves from the stadium to your screens in a virtual event this September.

This September, we’re putting our Marvel-vs-DC differences aside and (virtually) coming together as Comic Con goes online for the first time ever, bringing together the biggest group of film fanatics, gaming enthusiasts and comicbook fans in Cape Town.

Lockdown regulations might’ve put a pin in gatherings at Cape Town Stadium, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate the best of film, TV and comicbook artistry – in the comfort of our own homes.

The year’s Cape Town Comic Con is not only connecting fans and communities with an abundance of online content to enjoy, learn from, share, and be entertained by; it is also offering everything from gaming competitions to celebrity panel discussions and, most importantly, out-of-this-world cosplaying – all in the form of an interactive virtual festival.

Don your best costumes and get your data topped-up for three days of live chats, Q&As, panel discussions, live draws, gaming tournaments and streams, talks, fan meet-ups, and the opportunity to virtually meet celebs (to name a few) – all taking place from 24 to 27 September 2020.

The event will be free for all, with some additional features that will require a small fee, such as the celebrity meetings and virtual one-on-one interactions.

It’s your favourite pop-culture festival – brought to you in new, innovative and exciting ways. And although the lineup is still to be confirmed, if past years are anything to go by, it’s sure to be one you don’t want to miss!
