De Krans Wine-Tasting + Tapas at Harringtons Cocktail Lounge

The sophisticated Harringtons, in collaboration with De Krans wines, is hosting a series of warming winter wine-tastings in July 2019. Part of the experience is a selection of tasty tapas, but guests can choose to pass on this option, and participate in the wine-tasting only, at a reduced price.

The wine-tastings take place every Wednesday throughout July 2019.

The full experience costs R160, and here’s what you can expect:

• aperitivo glass of port on arrival
• De Krans wine-tasting
• meal of your choice (only options in the Large Plates section of the menu are available)
• glass of De Krans wine
• petit four dessert

It’s hard to believe that this decidedly sophisticated after-work drinks spot was once a grungy live-music dive (The Assembly). Velvet booths, botanical prints, crystal chandeliers and revived hardwood floors set the tone, with a striking L-shaped bar wrapping around half the venue, and boasting an exposed brick wall that houses rows of spirits.
If JFK were to take Jackie out for pre-theatre drinks, this boutique cocktail lounge in Cape Town’s East City is where we’d imagine them going.
