De Warenmarkt Oyster Fest 2018

Housed in a characterful 18th-century building, De Warenmarkt in the heart of Stellenbosch, is packed on any given day, with hungry locals and intrigued tourists seeking top-quality artisanal eats in a laidback market-style atmosphere.

One of the attractions this vibrant venue is best-known for is the Kaapse Vonkel MCC and Oyster Bar, where bubbly flows and fresh oysters abound. So much so, that the market decided to expand on its favourite bar, and turn it into a weekend festival for all, where slurping and shucking are the order of the day.

This year, patrons can expect three days of freshly sourced Saldanha Bay oysters in a number of variations, flowing Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel MCC, exciting wine-and-oyster pairings, and wonderful live musicians to set the scene.
