An epic musical built around all our favourite Disney songs.
A magical trip down memory lane is guaranteed as this epic musical production unfolds in an immersive sensory journey through 100 years of Disney. An all-South African cast of 26 top-notch performers is kicking off an international tour after this world premiere at the Artscape in Cape Town, with a spectacular show that blends puppetry, elaborate costumes and projections, and over 75 beloved Disney songs that are the soundtrack to so many childhood memories.
A brand-new production
There’s a host of international talent involved in the show, which was developed in association with Disney Theatrical Group, presented by Fever (together with Proactiv Entertainment and RGB), and is produced by Showtime Management. It debuted earlier this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina in Spanish, and this English-language production is set to take it to new heights of artistry.
A full-on sensory experience, the show pays tribute to the art of animation and invites the audience to reconnect with the legacy of Disney music through the stories, songs, and characters that have accompanied them through the different stages of their lives. Disney’s songs merge into an original score, and the characters come to life through various theatrical techniques and magnificent choreography.
The songs we love
Some of the iconic songs that are part of the musical are “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, “Let It Go” from Frozen and “This Wish from Wish” and a whole load more. The storyline follows Mara as she embarks on a journey led by Mickey Mouse and friends, meeting a host of Disney characters along the way and bringing the stories alive on stage.
