Grub & Vine: A Festive Spread of Christmas Celebrations

When it comes to a party, the crew at Grub & Vine knows a thing or two. This year Matt Manning’s Bree Street restaurant hub (and his Grub & Vine Norval outpost in the southern suburbs) are celebrating Christmas with set multi-course tasting and sharing menus (for lunch or dinner) and a joyful picnic that captures the essence and aromas of the season.

Feel like a touch of live music? Celebrate downstairs at The Blue Room with dinner and some tunes. Or head upstairs to Culture Wine Bar for a tasting menu in chilled surrounds.

Christmas Eve on Bree Street

Traditionally in Europe the big feast takes place on Christmas Eve, and it makes perfect sense in Cape Town, too. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may braai… or go to the beach, or hang out with pressies by the pool. Grub & Vine’s Bree Street’s Christmas Eve feast is on the menu for eight days across the festive season, so you can spread out your celebration to fit in all the other attractions of a sunshine Christmas. Expect elegant dishes like crayfish crumpet, sweetcorn risotto, confit pork belly and espresso tiramisu. Elevate the experience with optional curated wine pairings available at an extra cost.

Live Music at The Blue Room

Add a little funky soul to your warm-up to the festive season with this relaxed dinner and live music show. The Blue Room is a comfortable New York speakeasy-style lounge and cocktail bar, downstairs on the liveliest stretch of Bree Street. On Christmas Eve, enjoy a relaxed four-course dinner from the Grub & Vine kitchen, craft cocktails and an award-winning winelist  as a line-up of local musos hit all the right notes for a uniquely cool celebration.
