Breakfast at Tiffany’s is the stuff of Hollywood legend; Brunch at Harveys is the stuff that Cape Town Sundays are made of.
With its ocean-facing position and fountained courtyard offering relief from the bustling Main Road, Winchester Mansions has long been a familiar Sea Point institution for those seeking a civilised reprieve. It’s a great spot to enjoy anything from chilled sundowners to a cosy meal… Or, if you’ve not yet had the pleasure, brunch at Harveys.
Upon your arrival at the Winchester Mansions, you will be welcomed into the tranquil, shaded courtyard with a glass of sparkling wine and a complimentary newspaper to peruse (if you so choose). With its palm trees, flowering bougainvillea and bubbling fountain, the courtyard lends itself to laidback meals to the strains of mellow jazz.
A spread of note
The brunch buffet, which seamlessly blurs the boundaries between breakfast, lunch and dessert, is served every Sunday throughout the year, from 11am until 2pm. Expect a smorgasbord of everything from freshly made pastries, cheeses and traditional English breakfasts to sushi, salads, cold meats, as well as decadent desserts.
Sweet tunes
Renowned local and international jazz artists perform a string of easy-listening classics while guests socialise and enjoy the delicious spread with friends and family. The Jazz brunches cost R345 per person – booking is essential.
