Kick off your Bastille Weekend with a feast of French country cuisine.
With Bastille Day upon us, Franschhoek will be sporting le Tricolore (red, white and blue) in full-on party mode. And in the lead-up to the festivities, Leopard’s Leap is throwing a fabulous French fête to get you in the mood. Celebrating French country cuisine, with French cocktails, wine and music, it promises to be an evening of joie de vivre for bon vivants.
As the sun slowly sets, casting long shadows over spectacular Franschhoek Valley views, settle in with a French75 cocktail in anticipation of a luscious French-inspired spread. Starters of onion tarte tatin; baguette; brie; a leek, white wine and garlic confit; and San Gabriel butter will be served as the celebrations get into gear. A generous buffet harvest table takes care of the main course, loaded with hearty French country dishes such as coq au vin; boeuf bourguignon and a Toulouse-inspired cassoulet.
Craving something sweet? Visit the patisserie counter for a wonderful selection of pastries, sweets and desserts. There’ll also be Leopard’s Leap wines available at cellar-door prices and a host of activities, promotions and giveaways, with music to keep the vibe humming.
