The tranquil Camphill Village in the West Coast countryside is once again the venue for the annual Off The Grid Music Festival. Now in its fourth year, this family-and eco-friendly outdoor concert, complete with delicious food, a wide selection of artisanal beer and wine, fabulous local music, and a shop-worthy market, is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday with family and friends.
Music to your ears, and a whole lot more
Come hungry and thirsty, and work your way through the food trucks and stalls selling a selection of waffles, shawarmas, burgers, boerewors rolls, vegan dishes, as well as fresh fruit juices, coffee, draughts, craft beers, local wine and cider.
Then, secure a spot under the shade of the trees, and enjoy performances from the likes of The Kiffness, Stone Jets, Radio Kalahari Orkes, Bootleggers, Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, The Steezies, and DJ Jake Wildheart.
There’ll also be a market selling crafts, children’s toys, Camphill’s natural skincare products, takeaway food products, and fresh produce.
Bring the kids
Did we mention it’s family friendly? The safe farm surrounds are perfect for energetic little ones to run free and enjoy the sunny outdoors. There’ll also be a supervised enclosed play area, complete with a jumping castle and and a variety of fun games, where parents can drop kids at any time during the day.
Stay the night
And if you never want to leave, there’ll be two demarcated overnight camping areas for those who’d like to spend the night. Park your campervan next to the on-site community centre, or pitch your tent alongside the glistening dam, and wake up to a tasty breakfast of bacon and egg rolls, and hot filter coffee.
