Franschhoek through a painter’s eyes: The Pierneef Experience

Franschhoek through a painter’s eyes: The Pierneef Experience

La Motte

These weekly sessions at La Motte explore how the past is inextricably intertwined with the future of this feted Franschhoek estate.

La Motte Wine Estate in fairest Franschhoek is worth a visit any day of the week – but if you are planning a visit any time soon, you might want to do so on a Tuesday morning to enjoy The Pierneef Experience.

Paint us a pretty picture…

These experiences (or guided personal tours) offer fascinating insights into Pierneef’s life, delving into his various periods, themes and styles, using more than 100 original works. La Motte Museum’s newest exhibition, A Tribute to the life and work of Jacob Hendrik Pierneef (1886-1957), is the focus of these experiences.

A painterly feast

After the tour, guests are invited to enjoy a series of exquisite dishes, created by chef Michelle Theron. Then guests are invited to enjoy a Pierneef Collection wine-tasting in a private tasting area, whereafter, chef Michelle will conclude the experience with a very grand cheese course, providing culinary references to Pierneef’s Premier Mine painting.

Reservations are essential (online or through the museum), and close at 5pm on the previous Saturday.
