Easter at Rhebokskloof: A Family-Friendly Weekend of Activities

The tree-shaded lawns of Paarl’s Rhebokskloof Estate transform into an Easter wonderland for the whole weekend of the Easter holiday. Children run and play freely between slippery slides, jumping castles and bubble machines before the excitement of the Easter egg hunt (with attendant Easter bunny), while parents relax on a picnic blanket and enjoy the views of vineyards, lake and Paarl Mountain as they sip on a glass of vino. There’s a whole array of easy eats on sale, and for this event you only purchase tickets for the kids – over 13s get free entry.

Egg-citing activities for kids

If they tire of hopping on the jumping castles and slippery slides, and chasing bubbles across the lawns, kids will find a whole lot more to keep them busy. The Easter bunny presides over two Easter Egg Hunts for different ages (12pm and 1pm). At 2.30pm, there’s a magic show, and in the afternoon they can get their faces painted and visit the animals in the petting zoo.

Picnics, vino and views for parents

With the kids happily engaged, you can spread out a picnic blanket, relax and soak up the scenery with a glass of wine. Book one of the lavish picnic baskets for a laidback spoil: treats such as salmon and cream cheese on sourdough, charcuterie and biltong pâté, homemade preserves, chicken salad, buffalo mozzarella and cheesecake (there are vegetarian options and individual kids’ picnics too).

On-the-go eats

On the lawns you’ll also find a variety of quick and easy eats for anytime hunger pangs: crisp pizzas, burgers, boerewors rolls, as well as kid-friendly chicken strips and chips, and of course, soft-serve ice-cream.
