The Magic of Rob Lake at Grand Arena, GrandWest

Rob Lake

Mind-blowing illusions and dazzling storytelling.

He’s made Adele disappear and has been hailed as the “World’s Greatest Illusionist” by NBC… Rob Lake is a globally renowned magician and master of illusion, and his mind-bending show is coming to Cape Town for the first time. Physics-defying illusions are his magical metier, but it’s the awe-inspiring storytelling on a grand scale that puts the audience under his spell. An elaborate theatrical interactive performance that is as beguiling as it is bewildering. And always entertaining.

Rob Lake Magician

In 2008, Rob Lake became the youngest magician in history to receive the holy grail of the magic world — The Merlin Award – as “International Stage Magician of the Year”. This award is magic’s highest honour and the industry equivalent of an Oscar.

Making Adele disappear isn’t his only claim to fame (spoiler alert, she did return… this was a spectacular finale to her encore at her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace). Rob serves as magical and illusion consultant to the stars, and to multiple Broadway productions, including Aladdin, Harry Potter philharmonic and more.

On tour in South Africa

Rob Lake Show

Rob’s global tours have taken him to more than 45 countries, and now courtesy of Showtime Management he’s adding South Africa to the list, kicking off with two nights at the Grand Arena at GrandWest in Cape Town, before moving on to Montecasino’s Teatro in Johannesburg.

It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity to be dazzled by the imagination-defying illusions and seemingly death-defying stunts by this master illusionist who has been compared to David Copperfield. “Rob Lake’s example should be followed by everyone in the magic profession,” says Mr Copperfield himself.

Spectacular, entertaining and an inexplicable sprinkle of theatrical magic.
