AfrikaBurn’s Streetopia Festival Hits Obs

Bringing the streets to life with the creative expression of the community.

On 25 November 2017 the streets in Obs will be transformed into a colourful fiesta of live performances, art installations, poetry readings, food and drink stalls, and so much more. The creative crew behind our favourite Karoo Festival presents AfrikaBurn Streetopia. On the day, an extended portion of Observatory Lower Main Road will be closed, and there’ll be restricted access to Trill, Darian, Bowden, Wrensch, and Sussex Roads.

Music for the masses

The aim of the event is to bring communities together, and what better way to do so than through art, music and performance. Sound stages will be set up throughout the streets, including the Village Green Stage, Disconnect, and The Shrine, where Afro, electronic, and dance beats will fill the air.

Market stalls will line the streets selling art, crafts, clothing, jewellery, decor and accessories and, of course, food and drink.

So put on your dancing shoes and prance, jeté, or amble on down to Obs for an artful day of fun.
