Taj Cape Town: Three Sparkling New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Taj Hotel New Years Eve

Innercity extravaganzas to kick off 2025 in glittering style.

New Year’s Eve celebrations get the five-star-hotel glam factor at Taj Cape Town, where you have a choice of three gorgeous venues for deliciously festive dinners (with live entertainment): at Bombay Brasserie, Mint Restaurant and The Reserve banquet venue. This year the Taj has been inspired by carnivals and global streetfood when curating its two extravagant buffet menus. Kick off with a complimentary glass of cap classique on arrival, and from there on it’s a feast of flavours to enjoy until the early hours.

A buffet of global flavours

Taj Hotel Nye Menu

Go bold and colourful with a seafood section, carvery, Asian selection and the requisite starters and sweets. Think mango and chilli ceviche, herb-crusted sirloin, plum-glazed pork ribs, Thai fish curry, tandoori chicken tikka… and many more flavours to tempt you. Finish the feast with a “firework of petit-fours”, classic tiramisu or a slice of “Death by Chocolate” cake.

Taj Hotel Nye Setting

For this buffet menu, you can also take your pick of location. Step through the bronze doors of The Reserve into its elegant, marble-clad, chandelier-lit surrounds, and be swept up into an exhilarating evening of live music, festive feasting and dancing the night away. Or head for the casual-chic setting of Mint Restaurant, which looks out over St George’s Mall and has alfresco seating and mezzanine tables.

A spiced up buffet

Taj: Hotel Nye Bombay Brasserie

The Bombay Brasserie’s sumptuous fine-dining take on traditional Indian cuisine will be served up in a resplendent buffet for New Year’s Eve, with a side order of live entertainment. The opulent, atmospheric setting of the brasserie – reminiscent of an Indian palace – only adds to the delight of this special night.

Diners can take their pick from a small-plate “chaat library” and starters such as tandoori lobster or prawns cooked in coconut vinegar and tamarind; move on to mains of butter chicken, Alleppey fish curry, slow-cooked leg of lamb or a 24-carat-gold-infused vegetable curry; and for dessert, cheese dumplings soaked in saffron sweet milk, Kolkata-style gulab jamun or saffron yoghurt cheesecake.
