A Taste of Belgium Market: Authentic Food + Beer in Newlands

Brought to you by the Belgian Chamber of Commerce of Cape Town and sponsored by the Kingdom of Belgium, AB/Inbev and Lotus Bakeries, the 9th annual Taste of Belgium market takes place on 14 November 2020 – where visitors will get to experience an authentic taste of Belgium.

Hosted in the beautiful gardens of The Belgian House in Newlands, the 2020 edition of this market celebration will be packed full of Belgian waffles, tarts, moules-frites (mussels and fries), French fries, traditional Flemish stew, chocolate, croquettes and, of course, beer and wine!

Culture, craftsmanship and cuisine

Not only will you be able to enjoy traditional Belgian specialities, there’ll be a Belgian flea market organised by the Belgica Club where you can browse interesting trinkets and designs, and taste a variety of beers and local wines. Kids can have fun on the jumping castle. And live music will create a special atmosphere with MC, Fran Rico Lucas (from Smile 904FM) spicing things up.

Covid precautions
All visitors are required to wear a mask, sanitise their hands, register their details and have their temperatures taken upon entering. The market’s capacity will be monitored so that not more than 500 people are inside simultaneously, and the stalls will be spread apart.
