Wine lovers, the days of schlepping to the winelands to taste premium wine are long gone. Tuning the Vine brings wine-tasting to the streets of the Mother City so that you can savour wines from Stellies, Franschhoek, Robertson or the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley without leaving the CBD, easily hopping from one venue to the next.
How it works
These innercity wine-tasting sessions happen on the second Wednesday of the month during autumn, before returning in October for the spring sessions.

Head to a Ticket Station (91 on Loop and The Station on Bree) with your ticket in hand (or on your phone), and pick up a map, a glass and a wristband (which gets you into all the participating venues to experience the 25 to 40 wines on show). Some of the venues for June 2018 include: 91 Loop, Burger & Lobster, Roast & Co, HQ, Craft Burger Bar, Charango, Mink & Trout, Cabrón Taco Bar, The Gin Bar, The Crazy Horse, Arcade, Roast & Co and The Station on Bree.
Next Wednesday, 13 June marks Tuning the Vine’s 25th anniversary (events, not years!). As such, they’ll be celebrating with Glitch & Grammar, who will be performing at 91 Loop from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.
If you’re looking for a quick bite in between tastings, participating venues will be serving a variety of tasty nibbles. Or, if you’d prefer to have a leisurely meal after you’ve done your tastings, most venues will be open for late dinner.
