Tygerberg Nature Reserve is located in Cape Town’s Northern suburbs and was established in 1973. It supports the protection and conservation of one of the last remnants of the critically endangered Swartland shale renosterveld vegetation type.
There is a diverse variety of flora and fauna to be spotted at Tygerberg Nature Reserve, which includes about 24 different mammal species, 137 bird species, 22 different reptiles, 7 types of frogs, and many different butterfly species.
