Plaisir de Merle’s Winemaker’s Table

An 18-th century Cape Dutch manor house is the venue for this veritable feast.

Imagine a lavish dinner party in the winelands with food prepared by a top chef and access to a superb cellar… Plaisir De Merle, ensconced between Franschhoek and the Drankenstein area of Paarl, boasts an elegant 18th-century Cape Dutch manor house that has been restored to its former splendour. It is here that guests can enjoy a rare opportunity to relive the glory days of yore  at these celebratory Winemaker’s Tables, the next one of which is happening on 4 June 2016.

The host, cellar master Niel Bester, will be joined by well-known private chef Matt Manning, who will prepare a delicious multi-course meal. Neil will select the wines for each course – including museum stock – and will share these, along with anecdotal stories that give the wines an even richer note. With wine flowing, delicious food aplenty and an elegant setting, it’s sure to be a wonderful evening.
