Albert's on Albert Road, owned by Albert Venter, is just the thing for health-conscious foodies who work in Woodstock.

Don’t be fooled by the humbleness of the one-stop lunch-time counter; quality ingredients reign supreme at Albert’s: free-range chicken (“that tastes like real chicken”) is sourced from upstanding local suppliers, as is the fresh seasonal produce. Having worked in other people’s kitchens for 12 years (including Scot Kirton’s La Colombe), Albert decided to go at it alone with the help of his wife, Elzaan.
The menu changes daily depending on what’s available, but you can expect lush sarmies, veggie bakes, and power bowls. During our visit we tucked into a power bowl crammed with grilled-to-perfection chicken, broccoli and cauliflower, served on a mix of brown rice and quinoa, with a side of dressed coriander.
