Lively ocean hues and a fresh menu await.
A fresh sea breeze has wafted through the restaurant at The Plettenberg, the reimagined space opened up even more to the spectacular ocean views enjoyed from this luxury hotel perched on a rocky headland above Plettenberg Bay. Amelia’s is the name of the new restaurant, elegantly decked out in harmonious hues, a palette reflecting the blues, yellows, ochres and turquoise of the seascape it overlooks, and extending out onto the newly widened terrace for easy breezy outdoor dining on sultry summer days and nights.
Creative design
The talented team behind the transformation, Hot Cocoa Interiors & Design, are the same creative minds who transformed The Conservatory at sister-hotel The Cellars-Hohenort in Cape Town last year. Their genius is for capturing a sense of place, bringing the outside in and creating an exuberantly whimsical play of colour that is at once sophisticated and relaxed.
A fresh new menu
As Amelia’s opens its doors to both hotel residents and outside guests for breakfast, lunch, cocktail sundowners and dinner, there’s an exciting new menu to explore with a fresh take on the signature dishes that regulars know and love. Think Thai-spiced seafood curry with onion and ginger pickle; steamed mussels with ginger, lemongrass and coconut; crispy tempura prawns with lime and chilli jam; salmon fish cakes with sauce gribiche, soft poached egg yolk and asparagus; or homemade potato gnocchi with spiced butternut.
There’s a simple fillet steak or the classic Plettenburger with triple-cooked chips. And a pool and terrace menu for light lunches, when all you feel like is a poke bowl or a classic toasted sandwich.
As spring unfolds into summer, Amelia’s brings a lively new energy to this iconic Plett destination.
