SpiritCafé Dunkley Square: A New Health Spot in Town

SpiritCafé Dunkley Square: A New Health Spot in Town

Get your fix of feel-good food at this warm and welcoming space in the city.

From the team that brought you SpiritCafé and YogaSpirit in Constantia comes the second branch of this wholesome, much loved brand – SpiritCafé Dunkley Square. While the food offering and overall concept at the Dunkley Square branch is very similar to its Constantia predecessor, owner Kate Ball is quick to point out the subtle differences between the two eateries: “We wish to avoid becoming a restaurant chain, so it’s incredibly important to us that Dunkley Square develop its own identity and individuality,” she explains. “Town has a different vibe, and different needs, so we’re letting the area and space shape our approach” – namely an old Victorian building in a piazza-like setting. “We’re looking forward to watching its character evolve!”

Delicious and nutritious

Kate, a qualified yoga teacher, explains her food philosophy: “Eat what you love and what makes you feel good. Getting the right nutrition should never be a chore.” Which is where SpiritCafé comes in… “We make nutritious food taste amazing. You don’t need to worry that you’re checking your nutritional boxes; we’ll do it for you,” she adds.

“Our food isn’t fussy or complicated,” she continues. “We stay as close to the source as possible and are driven by seasonal availability. We prize great-tasting food. You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to love our menu – it’s simply delicious food that happens to fit into a vegan/vegetarian category!

Home away from home

“We’ve tried to create a home-away-from-home for our community – a space that feels like an extension of their own living rooms,” says Kate, adding that SpiritCafé welcomes business meetings as well as impromptu breakfasts, lazy lunches and on-the-run coffee dates. “We’ve gone for a very clean Scandinavian design: a space where you can think; a place where you feel inspired.”
