This buzzing lifestyle venue in Khayelitsha reopened last year (after a two-year Covid hiatus) with a fresh new look, many of the old faces, and more vibe than ever before. The swanky rooftop bar attracts in-the-know locals for pop-up Wednesday parties, DJ beats and sophisticated cocktails, while the downstairs restaurant is the place to hang out for Sunday brunches, business lunches and Friday date nights.

Let the good times roll

The Milk Restaurant Bar

When it opened in 2018, Milk was aimed at bringing a fine-dining experience “to the township, for the township”. Investors, Mfundo and Mshayi Mbeki (the brothers behind Rands Cape Town, a popular open-air lounge-tshisa nyama in Khayelitsha), together with Milk owner Siphelo Jalivane have created a welcoming space where lasting memories are made.

The three-level building is both a social hotspot and tourist attraction, a place for both business meetings and downtime chilling with friends.

The Milk Restaurant Bar Drinks

The venue’s greatest drawcard is the rooftop lounge-bar, the place to sip on whisky, cognac, champagne and sophisticated cocktails with panoramic views over greater Cape Town – not to mention superb sunset-painted skies.

The Milk Restaurant Bar Menu

The restaurant downstairs serves a range of dishes to appeal to the stylish mix of patrons, from linefish of the day with fennel purée and seafood pasta to sirloin with roasted bone marrow, gourmet burgers, BBQ wings and breakfast grills.
