After the successful launch of Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg, the owners decided to put a new restaurant on one of Cape Town’s buzziest spots, Long Street, giving nightcrawlers the opportunity to enjoy what’s become the talk of Muizenberg over the past few months.

The decor

Tiger’s Milk Long Street’s interior is a feast for the eyes. Think open-faced brick walls mounted with motorbikes, amazing art, cool glass-bottle light fittings, exposed beams and even a bull’s head sculpture. The seating comes in the way of bright red and yellow bar stools and wooden counters along the walls, as well as one facing vibey Long Street.

The food

Guilty-pleasure favourites, such as chicken wings, grilled pork ribs, pure beef burgers and pizzas are the sorts of dishes you can expect. For those looking for something lighter, there’s an interesting array of salads such as the Caesar (with a deep-fried soft egg) and the Parma ham and goat’s cheese salad, as well as the tasty onion soup on the appetisers menu.

The drinks

There is a wide selection of craft beer (a growing trend in Cape Town) including CBC, Woodstock, Jack Black and Devil’s Peak, as well as a variety of local wines from Kleine Zalze, Franschhoek Cellar, Groote Post and more. And if the Muizenberg restaurant milkshakes are anything to go by, you will need to sample the Long Street branch’s range, which includes chocolate, coconut and vanilla.

Opening times Wednesday – Saturday, 4pm – late
